Limit Orders

A limit order buys or sells a coin when it reaches a market cap you choose. Orders fill automatically, including while you are offline.

Placing an Order

  1. Open the coin and select Limit on the trade panel.
  2. Choose Buy or Sell, the amount and the target market cap.
  3. Choose how long the order remains open, up to one year.
  4. Confirm. The HYPE or tokens for the order are transferred to the limit order contract.

When the coin reaches the target, a keeper fills the order through the venue offering the best price, and the proceeds are sent to your wallet.

Cancelling and Expiry

An open order can be cancelled at any time, returning the full amount to your wallet. When an order expires, anyone can trigger the refund, and the funds can only be returned to you.

Safeguards

  • Each fill must return at least the minimum you set, measured by the contract’s own balance rather than by the venue’s report.
  • A fill can use only that order’s funds, and every other open order must remain fully backed afterwards.
  • The contract has no administrative withdrawal function and cannot be upgraded.
  • New venues become usable only two days after being added, which is visible on-chain. Removal takes effect immediately.
  • Cancellation remains available while new orders and fills are paused.

Fees

The limit order fee is currently 0.5%. It is deducted from the proceeds when an order fills and is fixed for each order at the time it is placed, so later changes never apply to open orders. The contract caps it at 1%.
